Guidelines on How to Practice VLOOKUP

A. Warning

Use "Microsoft Edge" as the Browser and not "Google Chrome", because sometime, it happened so that, Excel File is converted as Google Sheets. This removes the important setting in Excel and the file may not perform as per its original design.

B. To Practice Case (i) When "table_array" is in same sheet and Case (ii) When "table_array" is in another sheet

[Step 1] Download the File named as "VLOOKUP-TA in Same File", Save it in your Device

[Step 2] Understand the Worked Example from "TA" sheet - for Case (i)

[Step 3] Understand the Worked Example from the sheet named as "TA_ in Another sheet" - for Case (ii)

[Step 4] After understanding from above Worked Examples, Practice using other 2 sheets namely "Practice-TA in Same Sheet" and "Practice_TA_ in Another sheet"

[Step 5] You can observe the formula you entered shown with "Text of the Formula" and "Result" displayed showing either "Correct" or "Wrong" automatically.

C. To Practice Case (iii) When "table_array" is in Another File

[Step 1] Download below files, save them in your Device.

File1 is the same as given in Section B [File named as "VLOOKUP-TA in Same File"]

File2 is named as "VLOOKUP-TA in Another File-Only Practice File".

[Step 2] Open both the files.

[Step 3] In File2, complete Task1 and Task2 given in sheet named as "TA in Another File", referring the "table_array" from the File1.

[Step 4] Observe the Text of the formula, in C6 & C9, [for the formula entered in cells D6 & D9 respectively]

[Step 5] Find the result of the output in cells E6 & E9. If the Result displayed as "Correct", celebrate the moment, if not correct the formula and then celebrate the moment.
